Yes, it is true the button is NOT required for entry to 2018 shows! Instead, at the behest of many an audience member last year, we have added a lesser fee that helps support the festival, as 100% of the ticket price goes straight to the artist!
But we still have buttons for you.
FRINGE FRIENDLY BUSINESSES
Last year Ybor saw Tampa Fringe come in and they took notice. So this year, local businesses are offerring disounts to Fringe Button wearers – and some of them are PRETTY AWESOME!

“One day theater historians will point to May 2017 as the moment when the Tampa International Fringe Festival first came to the Cigar City and changed everything.”
In a stunning moment of pride for our burgeoning festival, we have been recognized by Creative Loafing and Mark Leib as a positive force in Bay Area theater, and it feels good!

Wow! What a year! We have been awarded the 2017 Jeff Norton Dream Grant by Theatre Tampa Bay! Like many Tampa natives, we all went to school at USF and knew Jeff Norton as a giving, talented, and dedicated artist. I attended a few stage combat workshops of his, and enjoyed several engaging chats with him in the breezeway between USF’s mainstage Theatre I, and the theatre department on bygone sunny days. We were all saddened to hear of his passing, and it is an honor to be recognized this way in his name.
“In the memory of the late artist and teacher, Jeff Norton, whose immeasurable impact on the Bay area theatre scene is still being felt, TTB is deliberately keeping the grant criteria broad and the application simple. We wish to encourage artists to dream “If I only had $500, I would…””
We are so excited to be recognized by Theatre Tampa Bay, and we can’t wait to put the award money into action with a brand new staff position, Volunteer Coordinator!
Our Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for helping us grow the festival through interaction with volunteers, ranging from technical staff to Festival Billets (people lovely enough to volunteer their spare bedroom for out of town artists during the festival)! Stay tuned for more news about this new position and how you can get involved!
