What drives you as a Company?
We believe strongly that theatre should be a moving, entertaining experience. There’s a lot of very stylized work out there and a lot of things that are designed to be hard to digest. There’s a place for that sort of work, but we don’t do that – we find and create comedies and dramas that interest you and then take on a riveting ride.
One thing our readers might not know about you?
Some people think that we’re a puppet theatre that happens to do musicals. Our priority #1 is interesting and entertaining our audiences. We’re an opera company and have always been; as for the puppets…well, it just makes the bodies easier to clean up in this show!
One thing our readers might not know about your work?
We almost exclusively stage world premieres and works that we’ve premiered.
What do you most like about the work you will present at this year’s festival?
This is a really fun show that also takes a pro-feminist look at the really messed-up things going in in Westeros. And, you know, it has puppet-on-puppet violence.
Have you ever performed in a fringe Festival before?
Have you ever been to Florida or Tampa before?
What are you most looking forward to about your visit?
As a group of Minnesotans, the warmer climate is of course near the top of our list! Cast members plan on hitting up the beach in the Tampa area before continuing on to the Orlando Fringe and side-trips to Disneyworld, Harry Potter World, etc.
Why did you choose the Tampa Fringe?
It’s quite exciting to help open a 100% new festival!
Where is home and what is it like?
Minneapolis, Minnesota – a place with winters so cold, that we practice our music and theatre extra-hard! And where you’re just happy sometimes that you don’t have frostbite.
